FPE Día de los Muertos LIE Makeup for Genesis 8.1 is tribute to El Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), which is a celebration at the heart of beautiful México. The Day of the Dead is when families come together to celebrate the memories of the loved ones who have passed away. It is believed that on that day, the dead return in spirit to celebrate their love with their families. While the Catrina and the Catrin were given birth in 1912 as a social discord to make fun of and critique the Mexicans who sought to be perceived as higher in status by mimicking how Europeans dressed during that time (losing or foregoing their own identity in the process), these well-dressed Calaveras (skeletons) have since become icons of El Día de los Muertos (celebrated on November 2). This pack gives you a range of designs to use with any Genesis 8.1 Character, so long as they also use the 8.1 Base UV Maps (since they apply via LIE). Each gender has 3 core makeup designs with some variations to each one. Each core design was inspired by the following concepts: Mono | This makeup is simplified by only using 1 color (black) for the entire design. It’s a traditional style that gives a more somber look. Whether your character seeks to celebrate or to wreak havoc, the monochromatic makeup will surely add a cool factor to his/her design. The Mono design comes without variations, but if you apply it directly onto the character or stack it atop the white base foundation, it will yield 2 distinct looks. Bicolor | This makeup is a bit more traditional and was designed to combine only 2 colors. This makeup comes with 2 variations. The blue and yellow variation was inspired by some of the Mexican Porcelain Artesanías. Again, using the white base will yield even more variation to this style. Colorido/a | This design is certainly the least traditional. Designed with more colors to really dig into the celebratory aspect, the Colorido/a design leans into a Catrin/a who is more fashionable and contemporary. The makeup comes in 3 variations for the males and 4 variations for the females. As with the other designs, stack it atop the white base for more contrast and a different look. In total, you get 9 LIE Makeup Iray Presets for Genesis 8.1 Female characters and 8 LIE Makeup Iray Presets for Genesis 8.1 Female characters. However, the ability to use them with or without the white base preset will give you double the options. Note: Keep in mind that these are LIE (Layered Image Editor) presets, which means that they can only be used with characters that use Genesis 8.1 maps (separate Body and Head maps, rather than just Torso).
