MMX Resource Saver Shaders Collection 5 for Iray is designed to be a lightweight, metallic, and synthetic materials set with 6000 primary color presets that range from single colors to dual and multi-banding colors. The primary colors are divided into 2 sets. Set one is only 1000 presets and has a very gradual color shift, whereas color set two has 5000 color presets with a much greater color shift. Primary color sets are refraction-based colors and are only visible when rendered in Iray. The secondary color sets can be used to blend with the colors of the primary color sets, thus altering the color seen on the surface. Secondary colors are broken down into 3 groups: color tone, main color, and secondary color. Color tone options are all grayscale and can help control the brightness so the color does not get washed out in well-lit scenes. The main color and secondary color have 40 color options to mix with the primary colors. The main color also has 25 grayscale colors, the same as the color tone options, and the 2 grayscale sets can be used to produce dark colors and blacks. In addition to color, there are 13 base preset options to go from shiny chrome to a flat powder, plus 4 sets of image maps to alter the appearance of the surface. The image maps are set up in 2 groups: More Metallic and Less Metallic. Both groups are identical and have 4 sets of maps showing 3 levels of change, plus 3 versions of each map. The image maps have normal strength and tiling options as well. There are 2 primary base preset options. One is meant for use on hair or other transparent and translucent items. It will preserve the opacity, normal, bump, and displacement maps. The other is meant for opaque surfaces.
